At sites where the installation is subject to strict environmental guidelines, ISASMELT™ technology has demonstrated fugitive emissions. The carry-over of dust from an ISASMELT™ furnace into pollution control equipment is much lower that that of some other technologies. Dust from mechanical carry-over is approximately 1% of feed rate. The resultant recycle of material within the plant is therefore very low.

ISASMELT™ uses a stationary furnace with a roof sealing system which allows all the gases from the process to be captured, so they can be treated for dust removal, removal of toxic materials and downstream processing.
