Following detailed discussions with the client, Xstrata Technology teams complete basic mechanical and structural design of the overall ISASMELT™ plant area including interfaces with upstream and downstream equipment. Subsequently, detailed drawings of the furnace, the ISASMELT™ lance, lance hoist and lance-handling equipment along with detailed instrumentation engineering are completed.

A detailed review of the mechanical and structural engineering of ancillary plant and equipment is also undertaken. Our teams work with the client’s preferred engineering contractors to deliver the best overall design solution.
